Every time people talk about the Bank of Italy they should remember it's past and present history .... The Present part is that Bank of Italy is the foundation of Bank of America. The past is that Fresno's Bank of Italy building is like the one in San Fransisco
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bank_of_Italy_Building
Known there as the Clay-Montgomery Building
Was that the building used in the Frank Capra film American Madness?

Excelent and heroic effort by Penstar and their associates! Thank god they and people like Reza Assemi are here to plug on despite the uphill battle they must face each day to bring downtown out of the dust bin that it is. Hopefully they intend to make it a multi-use building, retail/eateries, offices and residential. Hopefully they will not put in a lot of expensive ganite and applicances they limit those that might want to move downtown. I urge them to just put in basic plumbing and electric lines so that future tenents or co-op owners can decide how they want the units to look.
